There’s been some delays, but Guy Ritchie’s “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword” finally comes to screens in the early Summer and today EW has posted some fresh stills from the project along with some quotes from Ritchie himself.
Charlie Hunnam, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Jude Law, Eric Bana and more star in this gritty origin take on the Arthurian legend which has been suggested as being the first of a potential franchise. The magazine asked if they might go a step further with a potential Knights of the Round Table cinematic universe to which he says:
“As much as anything, I enjoy the process of filmmaking. Going back to Sherlock was very fun. Going back into this would be great fun. I like the world. I like Charlie. I liked everyone I worked with. It’s just a world that I’d like to stay within for a while. It’s not like there aren’t enough stories to be told within the mythology of Arthur and all of the characters within it with Merlin, with the sword, with Guinevere, with Lancelot. There are lots of untapped narrative still to be dealt with.”
“King Arthur: Legend of the Sword” opens on May 12th.
