The first official photo is out from The Weinstein Company’s surprisingly dark McDonald’s biopic “The Founder” starring Michael Keaton, Laura Dern, Patrick Wilson, Linda Cardellini, Nick Offerman, John Carroll Lynch and B.J. Novak.
John Lee Hancock helms from a script by Robert Siegel (“The Wrestler”) about how a salesman named Ray Kroc (Keaton) teamed with two brothers, Richard and Maurice ‘Mac’ McDonald, to launch what would soon become an international fast food chain that now serves 68 million customers every day. The film opens August 5th.
Next up, Sony Pictures has released a new Ghostbusters photo featuring the title heroes using their proton packs to take on some monster. Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones star in the project which also includes Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia and Michael K. Williams. The film opens July 15th.
Finally, a new photo is out from Woody Allen’s 2016 film which has scored the title “Cafe Society” and is set to open the Cannes Film Festival. Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg star in the film about a young man who arrives in Hollywood during the 1930s hoping to work in the film industry, falls in love, and finds himself swept up in the vibrant cafe society that defined the spirit of the age. No U.S. release date is yet set.
