“New Mutants” Wrapping As “Gifted” Casts Up

Josh Boone has used social media to announce that the final week of production is now underway on the X-Men spin-off “New Mutants” at 20th Century Fox.

Boone has previously stated that the project will be a ‘full-fledged horror movie’ and the photo, providing a glimpse of the film’s bloody logo, would seem to confirm that. “New Mutants” is set to hit cinemas on April 13th.

In related X-Men news, Garret Dillahunt (“Deadwood,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”) is set for a key recurring role in this Fall’s new “X-Men” drama series “The Gifted” for FOX. Dillahunt will play Roderick Campbell, a mutant researcher contracted by the Sentinel Service and on a morally dubious mission.

The series from writer Matt Nix and “X-Men” director Bryan Singer focuses on a suburban couple (Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker) whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers which forces them to go on the run.
