New photos have been released from Rian Johnson’s “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”. The first is a magazine cover showing Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker in his new black outfit, the other is a shot of Daisy Ridley’s Rey.
The photos hit as several more updates on the new film arrived in the past week or so. Johnson confirmed on Twitter that the new film has the least wipe transition shots of any “Star Wars” saga film with just twelve (“Rogue One” has none but is not a saga film).
Making Star Wars has revealed that the character of Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong’o) has a much smaller role this time out, mainly serving as an introductory intermediary to Benicio del Toro’s DJ character.
Plenty more information about the film is expected to be forthcoming this Friday, ‘Force Friday,’ during which a bunch of new toys, books and comics related to the film get released including the novel “Phasma” which explores the character – details about it are up at StarWars.com.
