New Line Locks In Labor Day Berth

Warner Bros. Pictures has made it official today that their New Line label will book every post-Labor Day weekend for the next four years through 2022.

The studio had such success with the launches of “IT” last year and “The Nun” this year in those slots, they’ve now staked a claim there with “IT: Chapter Two” on September 6th 2019, an untitled “Conjuring” film on September 11th 2020, and untitled films for September 10th 2021 and September 9th 2022.

The move is similar to Disney and Marvel who has effectively taken the opening weekend of May for themselves since “Iron Man” in 2008.
