New Line Already Plans “Lights Out 2”

Following its strong opening of $21.6 million over the weekend from a budget of under $5 million, it comes as no surprise that New Line has already begun developing a sequel to its horror hit “Lights Out”.

The story tells of a ghost entity that can only exist in the dark and lives in the shadowy recesses of buildings as it haunts a family. Teresa Palmer, Maria Bello, Gabriel Bateman and Alexander DiPersia star.

Eric Heisserer is in talks to return to write the script. Producers James Wan, Peter Safran and Lawrence Grey are expected to return for the follow-up, as is the film’s director David F. Sandberg whose short the original film was based upon.
