New “Harry Potter” Short Stories Hit Tomorrow

In the lead-up to the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” film opening in November, author J.K. Rowling is getting in on the film’s publicity train. Today comes announcement a new series of four original stories penned by Rowling and set to premiere on Pottermore tomorrow from 9am.

“The History of Magic in North America” will explore the magical history of the United States prior to the arrival of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) in 1926. The American wizarding school Ilvermorny, skin-walkers, and the truth of the Salem witch trials will all be explored in the shorts.

In the film, Newt accidentally releases a bunch of magical creatures during a meeting with an official from the Magical Congress of the United States of America – an accident which puts the wizard eradication extremist organization the New Salem Philanthropic Society on the defensive.
