It’s known that the character of Firestorm on The CW’s “The Flash” is about to undergo a change. In the first season Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) and Martin Stein (Victor Garber) combined to form the super-powered fiery being.
With Robbie Amell not being a part of the upcoming spin-off series “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” many were wondering how Firestorm would be worked into that show. Then came the casting of Franz Drameh as Jay Jackson, the character who will serve as the new Firestorm co-host.
Today, a new behind-the-scenes featurette for “The Flash” second season went online showing Drameh as Firestorm next to Grant Gustin as The Flash, the clip though has since been pulled but you can see the key screen cap above.
This would indicate the Jackson/Firestorm switchover element will take place in “The Flash” and should be all sorted by the time ‘Legends’ rolls around mid-season.
In related news, “Melrose Place” and “Candyman” actress Vanessa Williams (NOT the more famous “Ugly Betty” actress/model of the same name) has been cast as Iris West’s mother and Joe West’s wife in the second season.
Details of her debut are being kept secret. She joins her fellow “Candyman” co-star Tony Todd who will voice the villain ‘Zoom’ in the upcoming second season.
Finally, the network has also posted an official photo of Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick – the alternate Flash from a parallel world.
