New Films For DiCaprio, Kassovitz, Alvarez

Django Unchained
“Leonardo DiCaprio WILL play villian Calvin Candie in Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” says a tweet two hours ago by L.A.-based podcast host Jeff Goldsmith.

Quentin Tarantino originally wanted Leonardo DiCaprio to play Hans Landa in “Inglourious Basterds” before ultimately casting Christoph Waltz in the role.

Now he may have scored the famed star to play a villainous plantation owner. No confirmation of any kind has yet emerged, and Goldsmith carefully labels it a “Casting Rumor” only.

Le Capital
Mathieu Kassovitz and Gabriel Byrne have joined the cast while Naomi Campbell has been offered a role in Costa-Gavras’ financial industry drama “Le Capital”.

At last report, Vincent Cassel was also set to star in this critical look at the global banking system. Set in Paris, London, New York, Davos and Tokyo, shooting begins in September. [Source: Variety]
