New Details About The Mandalorian Series

In the wake of the release of the first trailer for “The Mandalorian” series on Disney+ on Friday, EW has now got a breakdown of some of the main characters of the show – many of whom can be glimpsed in the trailer.

The series will launch with the service on November 12th and will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow, Bryce Dallas Howard and Taika Waititi helmed episodes of the first season.

Pedro Pascal plays The Mandalorian whose real name has not been revealed just yet and works alone as a bounty hunter.

Giancarlo Esposito plays Moff Gideon, a former sector governor under The Empire who has become an ambitious warlord who has managed to retain a powerful army.

Gina Carano will portray Cara Dune, former Shock Trooper-turned-mercenary who fought with the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War.

Carl Weathers plays Greef Carga, the leader of the Bounty Hunters Guild who gives The Mandalorian an assignment no one else will take.

Finally, Waititi will voice the bounty hunter droid IG-11 with the official description saying: “Often gets mistaken for the famous IG-88 in the show (just as fans watching the trailer have mistaken him for IG-88 in real life).”

No details on Werner Herzog’s character are available.
