Exhibitor Relations have announced that 20th Century Fox has shuffled around some of its release dates with the biggest movie being a several month delay of the “Kingsman” sequel.
Matthew Vaughn’s “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” was slated for release on June 16th next year but will now open October 6th 2017. Taron Egerton and Colin Firth return in the more American-set adventure which also includes Julianne Moore, Halle Berry and Pedro Pascal.
Fox has also set a December 21st 2018 release date for an untitled film from Lightstorm Productions – James Cameron’s production company. Though it’s not said specifically it’s “Avatar 2,” earlier this year Fox said they were targeting a Christmas 2018 release so this would fit perfectly.
Finally Fox has also dated two Marvel projects – one for November 2nd 2018 and another for February 14th 2019. Fox now has three Marvel films set for 2018 and one for 2019. Candidates in development or headed to production include “Deadpool 2,” “X-Force,” “New Mutants,” “Gambit” and whatever plans they have for the main “X-Men” series.
