It’s only three weeks until the latest incarnation of “Charlie’s Angels” arrives, one that comes a full fifteen years after “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” graced the big screen.
However tracking figures for this reinvention of the premise isn’t faring so well, even with a high-profile mid-November release. According to Deadline, the film’s first weekend numbers have actually gone down from their $29 million long rage estimates to just $16 million at this point.
Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska star in the new take on the property which will come in behind the mid-November weekend’s other high-profile feature “Ford vs. Ferrari” which is on target to score in the $23-30 million range
Made on a reported $48 million production budget, a fraction of the $75 million and $120 million spent on the previous two films, it’s also opening a lot lower with the 2000 movie debuting to $40.1 million and the 2003 sequel snagging $37.6 million.
