New “Bad Boys,” “Hobbs & Shaw” Dates

A couple of key release date changes today starting with Sony Pictures which has now put “Bad Boys for Life” back on the release slate with plans for a January 17th 2020 release.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are set to helm the buddy cop comedy with Martin Lawrence and Will Smith reprising their roles from the two previous Michael Bay films. A recent report suggests the story involves an Albanian mercenary putting a death order on both Mike and Marcus for killing his brother – forcing the currently estranged partners to reunite.

Additionally, Sony’s Mr. Rogers biopic “You Are My Friend” starring Tom Hanks has been set for an October 18th 2019 release. Marielle Heller helms the film about the real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and award-winning journalist Tom Junod.

Then over at Universal Pictures, the upcoming Hobbs and Shaw-centric “Fast & Furious” spin-off has been pushed back a week and will now arrive in theaters on August 2nd 2019 – opening opposite the completely retooled “The New Mutants”.
