Ubisoft took last year off from a new entry in the “Assassin’s Creed” game franchise. With sales for the previous entry ‘Syndicate’ down, and the entry before that (‘Unity’) being widely disparaged due to bugs, the next entry has to be something of a comeback if the franchise is to stay relevant.
Now, WWG has posted some rumors about what the next entry will be. “Assassin’s Creed: Origins” will apparently be set in Egypt and will center around the origins of the Assassin’s Creed mythos.
Like ‘Syndicate,’ there’s dual-gendered story roles with both male and female main characters. The new game will also have a non-linear story and be set in a vast open-world more akin to “Skyrim” or “Fallout”.
Said map will span several countries, and boat travel will make a comeback enabling players to journey outside of Egypt to places like Greece. A first look photo has appeared on Eurogamer confirms the boat missions including one dubbed “Assassinate the Crocodile”.
Expect details to be revealed at E3 next month ahead of a Fall release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
