Netflix’s “The Crown” Reveals A First Trailer

Netflix has finally unveiled a trailer for its upcoming big budget event series about the personal, political and deeply private world of Queen Elizabeth II in her younger years.

Based on the award-winning play “The Audience,” Claire Foy stars are the monarch who must reconcile her personal life and public role in the quickly changing times of post-war politics and a declining empire. Also onboard are Matt Smith as Prince Phillip, John Lithgow as Sir Winston Churchill, Victoria Hamilton as the Queen Mother, Jared Harris as King George VI, Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret and Dame Eileen Atkins as Queen Mary.

The project teams writer Peter Morgan (“The Queen,” “Frost/Nixon”), director Stephen Daldry (“Billy Elliot,” “The Hours”) and producer Andy Harries (“The Queen”). “The Crown” will be released in full on the service on November 4th.
