Netflix has picked up its TV series adaptation of “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events” for a third season.
The renewal comes less than a month after the streaming service ordered a second season of the show following a highly successful launch of the show’s first season on the service in January.
The eight episode first season of Netflix’s show covers four of the thirteen novels in the series – two episodes devoted to each of Daniel Handler’s books.
With this renewal it now seems likely that either the second or third season will get two extra episodes so that the entire novel series will have been adapted for the screen by the end of the run in early 2019.
A spokesperson for Netflix declined to comment to the outlet.
