Netflixs Dorothy Alice Gets A New Writer

Former entertainment journalist and “When Lightning Strikes” screenwriter Anna Klassen has been hired to pen a re-write of “Dorothy and Alice” for Netflix. Justin Merz (“Rose Red”) wrote the initial draft of the script.

The story follows the fantastical friendship between two of literature’s most iconic characters – Dorothy Gale from “The Wizard of Oz,” and Alice from “Alice in Wonderland”.

Initially, the project was positioned as a potential franchise starter. Dorothy and Alice, haunted by nightmares of Oz and Wonderland’s destruction, team up to go on a perilous quest to save all the worlds both real and imagined.

Klassen has been brought in for a major overhaul which will take the project in a different direction. Bryan Unkeless will produce the fantasy adventure epic through his Clubhouse Pictures banner.
