Netflix Unveils “Marco Polo” First Look

After big success with contemporary political and prison dramas, Netflix has now released the trailer for its first original series venture into historical drama – “Marco Polo”. Lorenzo Richelmy plays the famed 13th century explorer who travels to the Far East and ends up in the court of Mongol Empire ruler Kublai Khan.

Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg (“Kon-Tiki”) helmed the first two episodes of the series which was shot in Italy, Kazakhstan, and Malaysia. John Fusco (“Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron”) created and penned the series which seems to boast lots of sex, violence and costly looking action. The ten-episode series will be available to stream in its entirety on Netflix from December 12th.
