Netflix has unveiled the trailer for “Dark,” its German language family/missing person drama with a supernatural twist.
Marking the streaming service’s first original content produced in Germany, the project features a cast of largely unknown German actors in a ten-episode tale of a missing child that sets four families on a frantic hunt for answers. Their search for a culprit unearths a small town’s secrets. The series will premiere sometime this winter.
The series, along with the likes of “The Crown” and “Marseilles,” continues Netflix’s push into Europe productions with more than 90 series currently being put together across Europe. The company’s spending on European productions is reportedly at the $1.75 billion mark indicates Variety with more coming.
European content has reportedly been watched by more than 93 million Netflix subscribers globally.
