Netflix Sets “July,” “Scruggs,” “Roma” Cinema Runs

Coens Rework Buster Scruggs Into A Film

In the wake of yesterdays’ news that streaming giant Netflix has been considering theatrical releases for some of its high profile movies, Deadline reports the service has set theatrical release dates for three of its upcoming films so they can qualify for awards season.

Paul Greengrass’ Norwegian political thriller “22 July” will open October 10th, Joel and Ethan Coen’s western “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” hits November 16th, and Alfonso Cuaron’s family drama epic “Roma” will be released on December 14th.

Those dates are also the same day they will debut on the streaming service, and each of the films will have a limited run in the theaters – specifically 10-12 Landmark theater locations in major markets.
