Netflix Sets “Defenders,” “Polo” & “Crown” Dates

A major event is underway in Paris for streaming giant Netflix where some announcements have been made regarding their shows.

First up, “Daredevil” leading man Charlie Cox indicated that filming on the Marvel team-up event mini-series “The Defenders” will kick off sooner than expected – as in later this year: “At the end of this year we’re going to be making The Defenders and, of course, Daredevil is very much a part of that foursome.”

Due to this though, that means “Daredevil” having a third season for next year may be unlikely. Cox tells The Independent: “We don’t know if there’s going to be a season three. I certainly don’t know.”

He also adds to CNET that those hoping for his character to appear in an upcoming Marvel Studios movie shouldn’t keep their hopes up as no-one has talked with about it: “There was no conversation about joining any of the movies.”

Filming on the fourth Marvel & Netflix series, “Iron Fist,” begins shortly ahead of an early 2017 airing. Netflix also posted ‘date announcement’ trailers for two of its original series – the second season of its historical drama “Marco Polo” premiering July 1st, and the debut of the young Queen Elizabeth II ten-episode series “The Crown” premiering November 4th.
