Netflix Sets A “Murder Mystery” Sequel

Netflix is reportedly developing a sequel to its 2019 original film “Murder Mystery” with stars Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are expected to return while James Vanderbilt in negotiations to return to pen the script.

The original film was released in June and reunited “Just Go With It” stars Sandler and Aniston as a married American couple who become embroiled in a murder plot while on a European vacation. Luke Evans, Gemma Arteron and Terence Stamp co-starred while Vanderbilt penned and Kyle Newacheck helmed.

Upon its release, the film not only garnered the best reviews for a Netflix Sandler vehicle to date, but it also proved extremely popular with almost 31 million households viewing the movie in the first 72 hours – one of the best debuts ever for a Netflix original.

No deals are set yet with Sandler and Aniston and the project is still in early development, but no complications are foreseen.
