Just a few days after the first season release, Netflix has officially renewed its dark family thriller “Bloodline” for a second season. Production on that begins later this year for a 2016 release in all territories where Netflix is available.
With the “Bloodline” pickup, all of Netflix’s original drama series have gone to a second season. At the same time the streaming service has also set a 2016 release for one of its other major original dramas – “Marvel’s Luke Cage”.
Cheo Hodari Coker (“Ray Donovan,” “Notorious”) has been hired to serve as show runner on the series and will also pen the first two episodes. Mike Colter stars as the titular Luke Cage in the series and will make his debut in a recurring role opposite Krysten Ritter in “AKA Jessica Jones”.
