As part of their Anime Expo panel on Thursday, Netflix made several announcements about their plans to expand their anime content – kicking off with the second season of the “Castlevania” animated adaptation which will launch on October 26th.
The other big news is that they will launch a new “Ultraman” series in 2019. The action drama follows a man possessing the spirit and DNA of the legendary hero of the same name as he wears a metallic ultra suit and fights against evil. Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki helms.
Also on the way is the new anime series “Kengan Ashura” which follows Kazuo Yamashita, an ordinary fifty-six-year-old man who one day is summoned by the chairman of his company and hired as a gladiator to protect the corporate rights of the businesses they represent.
Netflix has additionally renewed “Aggretsuko” for a second season to debut in 2019, and set a July 18th premiere date for the anime sequel “Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle” which follows up on 2017’s “Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters”. Finally they will begin airing “Dragon Pilot” on September 21st.
