Netflix Picks Up Extreme Universe Rights

With a previous deal setup at Graham King and Fundamental Films never coming to fruition, Netflix has reportedly stepped in and picked up the screen rights to Rob Liefeld’s Extreme Universe.

Akiva Goldsman and his Weed Road banner remain attached and still plan to flesh out story ideas for individual movies in the series with the help of a writers room. Goldsman, Liefeld and Brooklyn Weaver will produce the films which will be set in a shared universe.

The current iteration of the Extreme Universe from Liefeld, co-creator of Deadpool and a founder of Image Comics in the 1990s, includes titles like Brigade, Battlestone, Lethal, Bloodstrike, Kaboom, Regex, Cybrid and Bloodwulf.
