Streaming service Netflix and studio Lionsgate today announced that they have renewed their critically acclaimed prison dramedy “Orange Is the New Black” for three more years.
Creator Jenji Kohan will reportedly continue through seasons five, six and seven as showrunner. The announcement comes ahead of the service’s fourth season which will premiere June 17th.
Cindy Holland, Netflix’s vice president of original content says: “Jenji and her team have produced a phenomenal and impactful series that is both funny and dramatic, outrageous and heartfelt.”
