Actor Jason Bateman has revealed that Netflix has scored his upcoming dramatic TV series “Ozarks” which he is producing with MRC and Aggregate says Slashfilm.
Created by writer Bill Dubuque (“The Judge”), the ten episode drama is something Bateman dubs a “dark dangerous show” and “a 600-page movie”. Set around the the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, it deals with a family man who is forced to move there after he is caught money-laundering from a Mexican drug lord.
To stop the cartel from taking his head, he convinces them he’ll repay his debt by setting up a drug operation in the tourist locale.
Bateman will produce and star in the project and is planning to direct some of the episodes. He’ll begin filming on the series after he shoots the studio comedy “Office Christmas Party”.
