Netflix has hit back at reports indicating their Henry Cavill-led TV series adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s celebrated novels and game series “The Witcher” will launch on the service on December 17th.
Verified Dutch Netflix social media accounts seemed to indicate the date before the posts were quickly pulled. A Netflix spokesperson has commented on the leak, saying in a statement that the launch date for “The Witcher” has not yet been confirmed.
They add that the post was made by Netflix accounts in the Netherlands in error, and not all of the information contained in it is accurate/final. That said, the spokesperson didn’t deny or confirm the date either.
The series follows monster-hunter Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) and Ciri (Freya Allan) as they find themselves caught in a conflict of power and magic that will shape The Continent.
