Netflix has officially announced its full December release date line-up with the big original titles coming to the service revealed.
Original film wise Noah Baumbach’s acclaimed “Marriage Story” arrives December 6th, Michael Bay’s explosive actioneer “6 Underground” hits December 13th, “The Two Popes” arrives December 20th, and “The Neighbor” arrives New Year’s Eve.
Original TV shows arriving include the Ian Somerhalder-led “V Wars” on December 5th, the final season of “Fuller House” on December 6th, the second season of “Ultraviolet” on December 19th, the Henry Cavill-led “The Witcher” on December 20th, the second season of the “Lost In Space” reboot on December 24th, and the second season of the Penn Badgley-led stalker drama “You” on December 26th.
One notable absentee is the Safdie Brothers’ “Uncut Gems”. Netflix has bought the rights to the film outside North America where A24 is releasing the movie theatrically on December 13th in limited release followed by a wide release on December 25th.
It is expected that ‘Gems’ will follow an “Annihilation” or “Shaft” style pattern of hitting the service overseas around 2-3 weeks after the U.S. theatrical run but Netflix hasn’t confirmed a date for it yet and seemingly hasn’t set it for a December release, suggesting it won’t be until after the U.S. wide release (a potential early-mid January debut).
