Netflix has announced that they have cancelled the comedy series “One Day At a Time,” the show not returning for a fourth season.
The streaming giant says the decision did not come easily, but the choice was made because not enough people watched to justify another season. The first three seasons of the series are currently streaming.
The modern revamp of producer Normal Lear‘s 1970s sitcom, this time following three generations of a Cuban-American family, was critically acclaimed with a lot of famous fans. However, the audience just wasn’t there.
Executive producer Mike Royce says that the show’s production company Sony Pictures Television is seeking a new home for the series, saying: “Along with our studio Sony, we will be exploring other places One Day at a Time can live, and with any luck we’ll find one. Either way our three seasons will always exist be there for you and for us.”
