Neil Patrick Harris is in negotiations to join the cast of Netflix’s series adaptation of the best-selling children’s book “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events” at Paramount Television.
The story follows orphaned children Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire who finds themselves in the villainous clutches of an evil uncle named Count Olaf who has designs on their family fortune. Harris would play Olaf whom was played by Jim Carrey in the Brad Silberling-directed 2004 film.
At the same time, Mark Hudis (“True Blood”) is exiting his role as showrunner on the straight-to-series adapatation, and a replacement has yet to be named.
A thirteen episode order has already been handed out but there’s no premiere date as yet. Daniel Handler will executive produce.
