Neil Marshall To Helm Moviepass Reckoning

MoviePass Films has handed out a green light to the horror title “The Reckoning” with “The Descent” helmer Neil Marshall to direct.

Marshall co-wrote the script alongside Edward Evers-Swindell and Charlotte Kirk (“Ocean’s Eight”) with Kirk slated to also star in the film which will begin shooting on January 15th in Wales.

The female-driven story is set around the witch hunts and the great plague in England in 1665 and follows Evelyn Haverstock (Kirk), a young widow, haunted by the recent suicide of her husband Joseph, who is falsely accused of being a witch by her jealous Landlord, Squire Pendleton, after she rejects his unwanted advances.

Marshall, who has made a name for himself on TV in recent years helming episodes of “Game of Thrones,” “Lost in Space” and “Westworld,” has the “Hellboy” reboot coming out in April.
