Universal Pictures has confirmed it is moving forward with the sequel to last year’s comedy hit “Neighbors” (aka. “Bad Neighbours”). Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne are all set to return for the follow-up.
“Neighbors 2” is currently targeting a May 13th 2016 release, where it will go up against the “Friday the 13th” reboot. The story is said to follow a female sorority that moves in next to the Radner’s, as the couple enlists help from their former enemies in the fraternity to take down these wild coeds.
The original film’s director Nick Stoller and writers Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien are coming back, with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Nick Stoller also set to work on the script.
The original film pulled in over $268 million worldwide from an $18 million budget. Filming is slated to begin this summer.
