Ten-year-old newcomer Neel Sethi has scored the lead role of Mowgli, the young boy raised by jungle animals, in Jon Favreau’s live-action adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book” for Disney Pictures.
Sethi will be the only actual actor to appear onscreen, with the story’s various creatures being rendered in CG.
Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johansson and Lupita Nyong’o are either in place or in talks to provide the voices of the creatures. The film is slated for an October 9th 2015 release.
