CBS has renewed its long-running procedural “NCIS” for two more seasons, keeping the show on the air through a fifteenth season in 2018.
The renewal follows in the wake of executive producer and leading man Mark Harmon signing a new two-year overall deal with CBS. No word as yet if the fifteenth season will be the last.
Despite its long run, “NCIS” remains the top rated broadcast drama in the U.S. – averaging 20.47 million viewers in its thirteenth season. It has also spawned two successful spinoffs – “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “NCIS: New Orleans.”
While Harmon will remain, the show will bid farewell to star Michael Weatherly at the end of the current season.
