NBCUniversal is reportedly looking into producing a direct-to-consumer streaming service akin to one that rival CBS has with its CBS All Access service.
NBC’s one would have the advantage of including shows from all the networks under Comcast’s NBCUniversal brand – including NBC, Bravo, USA and Syfy.
Bloomberg is the one who broke the story, citing ‘people familiar with the matter’ and added that the company hasn’t determined whether it will include a live feed for NBC or sports.
Comcast and NBCU declined comment, while another source for Deadline claims its speculation. In any case, Comcast is under certain government restrictions until September next year that would prevent such a service going forward.
