With revivals all the rage at the moment from “Twin Peaks” on Showtime to “Prison Break” and “The X-Files” on FOX to “Roseanne” on ABC, executives at the Television Critics Association summer press tour this week have been asked what other shows they would be interested in reviving.
NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt says there are four shows they have offered open invitations to their creators about bringing them back if they’re interested and want to do it, even if only for a limited event series run.
In all four cases, the creators offer a variation on the line “maybe some day but not now” and so there’s no progress on any of them. So what are the four? “The Office,” “30 Rock,” “The West Wing” and “ER”.
Greenblatt confirms the only revival they have in proper development at this point are “Will & Grace” and “Miami Vice,” the latter revealed this week. ‘Will’ is slated to debut this Fall, ‘Vice’ sometime in 2018.
