NBC has opted not to pick up its “Cruel Intentions” reboot/sequel to series. The decision not to move forward came down to not finding the right fit on NBC’s schedule.
Picked up to pilot in May, the network opted not to order the show at the time of upfronts but kept the project alive and extended the pilot options for the entire cast this summer.
Sarah Michelle Gellar starred in the pilot, reprising her role as Kathryn Mertuil, with the film’s original director Roger Kumble serving as executive producer alongside Lindsey Rosin and Jordan Ross.
Sony, which produced the pilot, is currently shopping around the show with multiple networks having reportedly inquired about the series.
