In development for some time, NBC has now officially ordered a pilot for “A to Z” creator Ben Queen’s new half-hour DC superhero-themed comedy series “Powerless” from Warner Bros. Television.
The series is described as a workplace comedy set at one of the worst insurance companies in America and story deals with the reality of working life for a normal, powerless person in a world of superheroes and villains.
Not based on any particular comic from the DC canon, minor characters from the DC universe could well show up on the series with Queen to pen the pilot and executive produce. Marvel Entertainment has a similar concept with “Damage Control,” but it’s uncertain if that is moving forward.
From the sounds of it, the tone will likely be akin to “The Office” or the short-lived 2008 British superhero comedy series “No Heroics”.
