NBC Gives “Constantine” A Pilot Order

NBC has given a pilot order for David Goyer’s “Constantine,” a TV series adaptation of DC’s “Hellblazer” graphic novels.

The story follows John Constantine, an enigmatic con man and reluctant supernatural detective struggling with his faith.

Haunted by the sins of his past, he is suddenly thrust into the role of defending humanity from the gathering forces of darkness.

Daniel Cerone (“Dexter”) penned the pilot and is exec producing alongside Goyer. The character was previously adapted for the screen in 2005’s “Constantine” starring Keanu Reeves, albeit a relatively loose adaptation.
