NBC Cuts “Chase”, Sets “Event” Return

NBC has put its action TV series “Chase” on hiatus and has replaced it with episodes of “Minute to Win It” reports TV Series Finale.

Debuting in September to mediocre ratings, the series shed viewers fast and a change of night didn’t help. The show is currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network which itself is far from the powerhouse it once was.

The network has not officially cancelled “Chase”, but there’s no reason for the show to be brought back. There are currently five unaired episodes of the show, and no word when or if they’ll go to air.

Meanwhile, the Peacock has also delayed the mid-season return of its serial drama “The Event” by a week and will now launch it with a two-hour episode on Monday, March 7th.

The delay will allow the network to burn off the last episodes of “The Cape”, effectively closing off that series before “The Event” returns.

Debuting to almost 11 million viewers, ratings quickly dropped during its first five episodes but seem to stabilise in the 5-6 million viewer region for the sixth to tenth episodes.
