Critically lambasted as a poor man’s “The Americans,” NBC has cancelled its freshman spy drama “Allegiance” after five episodes.
The series premiered a month ago to five million total viewers, a number that has dropped to 3.4 million viewers by the time of the fifth episode’s airing.
The Thursday 10pm slot will now be used to play out the second half of NBC’s remake of “The Slap” mini-series which has also been a critical disappointment and a ratings stinker.
‘Blacklist’ remains the big draw on Thursday nights, especially when DVR playback is taken into account.
