“Castle” and “Firefly” star Nathan Fillion will get to play Green Lantern at last, albeit in animated form.
Fillion, Elisabeth Moss, Henry Rollins, Jason Isaacs and Arnold Vosloo have all joined the voice cast of “Green Lantern: Emerald Knights”, the latest direct-to-disc animated effort from the DC, Warner Premiere and Warner Bros. Animation reports AWN.
Fillion’s visage was used in a popular “Green Lantern” fan trailer back in 2009 and many fans hoped he would score the role in the big-budget live action feature – a role that ultimately went to fellow Canadian and his former “Two Guys and a Girl” co-star Ryan Reynolds.
Fillion will voice Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in this feature, he previously lent his voice to an animated Wonder Woman movie and the Justice League animated series.
Moss will voice a young GL recruit Arisia, Rollins voices Kilowog, Isaacs plays Sinestro and Vosloo plays Abin Sur. Rowdy Roddy Piper, Kelly Hu and Wade Williams also star.
‘Knights’ will be released on Blu-ray, DVD and download June 7th – ten days before the live-action ‘Lantern’ film.
