Natalie Gumede (“Death in Paradise,” “Doctor Who”) has been cast in a recurring guest star role on the DC Universe original series “Titans”.
Gumede will take on the role of Mercy Graves, the formidable bodyguard and ruthless right hand to megalomaniacal industrialist villain Lex Luthor. She’s a sardonic martial-arts specialist who often dons a chauffeur’s cap.
The Graves character was introduced in the late 1990s “Superman: The Animated Series” and, much like Harley Quinn from “Batman: The Animated Series,” is a rare example of a character that was in an adaptation being later embraced and incorporated into the source material.
Rhona Mitra played the role recently on The CW’s “Supergirl” while Cassidy Freeman played a variation of her on “Smallville,” and Tao Okamoto took on the role very briefly in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”.
