“Anthropoid” stars Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan are re-teaming for acclaimed “My Left Foot” and “In the Name of the Father” filmmaker Jim Sheridan’s new feature “H-Block”.
The pair will join Pierce Brosnan in the true story film about the Maze Prison escape in Northern Ireland. Thirty-eight prisoners escaped from the maximum-security prison, with only half recaptured.
The violent breakout included hostage taking and ended up being the biggest in both British and Irish history, along with becoming a source of propaganda used by the IRA.
Murphy stars as the head of the ring of IRA prisoners who has earned the respect of the guards but just wants peace. Brosnan would play the warden
Dornan plays a violent IRA prisoner and orderly who discovers weaknesses in the prison. Brosnan would play the warden who is pitted against the escapees.
Sheridan and Nic Sheff are penning the script while Dylan Sellars will produce.
