Mrs. Doubtfire Sequel Moves Forward

Fox 2000 is developing a sequel to the 1993 Robin Williams comedy hit “Mrs. Doubtfire”.

Both Williams and director Chris Columbus are reportedly attached to the follow-up, while “Elf” scribe David Berenbaum has signed on to write the screenplay.

The project has been languishing in development for over a decade, but suddenly picked up heat again when a new storyline by Berenbaum excited the interest of both Williams and Columbus.

No story details have yet been released. Williams starred in the original as a struggling actor and divorced father who tries to get closer to his children by pretending to be a Scottish nanny named Eupheginia Doubtfire.
