A brave young girl and the 1993 comedy “Mrs. Doubtfire” have been credited with helping save a woman’s life over the weekend.
KABC reports that seven-year-old Oregon native Amira Thorton saved her mother from choking to death on a bit of sausage.
Though the mother was unable to speak or cry out for help, Thorton recognised what was happening and remembered the scene from the film in which Robin Williams’ Mrs. Doubtfire character saves Pierce Brosnan’s character with the help of the Heimlech maneuver.
Thorton leapt into action, claiming she picked her mother up three times as she did the manuever until the sausage was spat out.
