Mr Robot Officially Ends With Expanded S4

It was rumored but now it’s official – the upcoming fourth season of USA Network’s “Mr. Robot” will be its last. The Live Feed reports the new season is getting an expanded twelve-episode order and as a result won’t begin production until the winter and won’t air until sometime well into 2019.

Producers, including creator Sam Esmail, toyed with the idea of plotting out a fifth season but ultimately settled on an expanded fourth to wrap up the story. The fourth season writing schedule was also split in two in order to accommodate Esmail’s work on the Julia Roberts limited series “Homecoming” at Amazon.

The show’s star Rami Malek has previously suggested the show only had about four or five seasons in it, and Esmail confirmed that in interviews. The season three finale late last year wrapped with a series-low 450,000 same-day viewers.
