AT&T Audience Network’s “Mr. Mercedes” has finally set a second season premiere date of August 22nd. Like the first, this will run for ten episodes with Jack Huston, Tessa Ferrer and Maximiliano Hernandez joining the cast this time around.
Based on the Stephen King novel series of the same name, the first season followed a retired detective, Bill Hodges (Brendan Gleeson) haunted by the case of a killer, Brady Hartsfield (Harry Treadaway), who murdered sixteen people in a stolen Mercedes. Two years later the killer re-emerges from hiding and begins taunting the detective.
The second season will adapt elements from all three novels in the series including “Mr. Mercedes,” “Finders Keepers” and “End of Watch”. The story begins one year on since the finale. When staff attending to the vegetative Brady Hartsfield, Hodges is haunted by the feeling that Brady is somehow responsible.
Additionally, Netflix has set a Friday, May 4th premiere for the second season of its comedy series “Dear White People” based on Justin Simien’s acclaimed debut indie 2014 feature. A teaser trailer for that new season is also out and can be seen below.
