AT&T’s Audience Network has renewed its psychological thriller series “Mr. Mercedes,” inspired by the book trilogy by Stephen King, for a third season.
Jack Bender is returning to direct with David E. Kelley coming back to oversee the writer’s room on a new ten episode season which will begin shooting in Charleston, South Carolina in early 2019 ahead of a late 2019 premiere.
Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, the first season followed a retired detective, Bill Hodges (Brendan Gleeson), haunted by the case of a killer, Brady Hartsfield (Harry Treadaway), who murdered 16 people in a stolen Mercedes and who remains undiscovered two years later.
The killer re-emerges and begins taunting the detective, leading the two to engage in a deadly game of cat and mouse. Jack Huston, Tessa Ferrer and Maximiliano Hernandez also star in the series which aired its second season this year.
Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Tom Lesinski, Jenna Santoianni, Shane Elrod and Kate Regan executive produce.
